How to clean a leather sofa?

Let's use a sponge soaked in water and Marseille soap.

  • Recommended dose: a tablespoon of soap in a liter of water

Let's go quietly several times.

Alternatively we use a microfiber cloth soaked in white vinegar and well wrung out.

Polishing

To polish them we use a virgin wax which will keep them soft for longer. If the leather is colored, naturally use a wax of the same shade or neutral.

For the removable parts it is advisable to take them to the dry cleaners, the non-removable parts can be washed with a dry foam and then go over them with a vacuum cleaner to remove the residues.

If it is a simple dust, you can dust the sofa with a dry, clear and above all soft cloth without adding any detergent or even water.

Dry dirt

If it is a dry dirt, we proceed with a vacuum cleaner avoiding scrubbing: we could permanently damage our sofa.

Dirty oily

If the stain was caused by oily substances such as oil, butter, sauce and the like, dry immediately with absorbent paper and wash with a solution of:

  • 300 ml of water
  • 1 tablespoon of Marseille liquid soap

Dry immediately with a dry cloth, bearing in mind that you must not rub, but always moving the cloth from the outside to the inside so as not to favor the expansion of the stain!
