From the plant to the building
Cork has always been known for its qualities of good thermal insulation and is now re-proposed in different formats because it is environmentally friendly.
It is necessary, however, to pay particular attention to its processing, that is to understand how the cork is treated.
In fact, it is often marketed in "glued" panels with glues containing solvents or tars that make it lose its biocompatibility feature.
Cork is a plant:
The cork in nature is nothing but the bark of the homonymous plant.
After a certain period of growth, the bark is removed without killing the plant, which will subsequently grow and allow a future new barking.
