heating direct gain

The direct gain is the accumulation of solar radiation inside living spaces.

This practice saves money due to the use of solar radiation: you use the space as a collector needed to accumulate heat during the day and release them during the night.

During the day the solar radiation passes through a glass facing south, and preferably inclined, said collector and the floor and walls must be constructed appropriately to accumulate heat.

There are various types of accumulators:

  • Masonry thermal accumulator Thermal Wall made of fired bricks, earthen bricks or stone.
  • Floor accumulator, the heat of radiation is retained by the pavement hit by the sun.
  • Water accumulator, which is usually contained in the wall of water . He is struck by the sun for as many hours as possible. The materials used are plastic or metal containers.
