The Select, the story

It is 1920 and Venice is in the midst of the postwar period. The young Pilla brothers, with their distillery and thanks to their great experience in the art of liquor, know how to seize that moment.

In those years the ritual of the aperitif spread and Select soon became the protagonist. As was the custom for aperitifs, it was drunk mostly straight, with the addition of soda or seltz, but also mixed in numerous cocktails.

Already in the mid-1960s, a new fashion began to spread in Venice, which then exploded in the 1970s when the Venetian Spritz in the version we know today was established. A third ingredient is added to white wine and sparkling water: Select.
